Smoke Alarms to Trees!

  ya'll!  Guess what?  I've been experimenting with Smoke Alarms in Trees.  I find that when my trees are hit by lightning, my sims run out, jumping all around in a panic and a few of them have actually caught on fire. Some survived and other they were shaking hands with the 'Reaper'.

So what I came up with was this:

Step #1... Select the tree you want to place your alarm.




Step #2...  You want to ensure your alarm is high in the branches.




Step #3... Select and place your support.  Select the alarm like you would other objects in build mode.




Step #4... Need to activate cheat, "Moveobjects On".




Step #5... Need to make sure your ground is level, or it won't work.




Step #6... Ooops!  Typo - I was trying to say here, by using your mouse to 'Zoom' in closer to branches, to see where you placed your alarm.




Step #7...




Step #8...  Your alarms will stay in the location there were placed, but if you decide to move your lot to the Bin, you will need to replace them.

thank you for posting this BBDoll! since the trees do catch fire, simmers should make sure that their sims don't get killed.

You are very welcome, Sunflower.  I added a few more pics that have more light to them.  It was nite at my Sims when I took the first pics.    

I've always used move objects and just place the smoke detector on the house or other building, and it responds as quickly. I also do that with the burglar alarms; the alarm sets off faster than if it's in th home, and the burglar never has a chance to burgle!
 

This is good to know Cinda. I wasn't aware that it alerts faster on the outside. I'll try that. I have not been burglarized lately.   Wonder why?
