| He's a Strange looking dude sim. He's a mermaid? I don't recall ever seeing a mermaid with legs. And purple at that. LoL Since you guys are playing TS3, do they live in water or in a house? Interesting. | |

| Mermaids actually live in houses like regular sims, on land they have legs and when they are in the water their legs turn into tails. ...normally their skin is really pale, almost white.
The only way you can tell a mermaid from other sims on land is the scales on their legs. You can even have Mermaid children as well... but their legs don't turn into tails (nor do their hygiene need change to hydration) until they are teenagers ..I'm guessing it's cause you can't go diving until then.

| Thanks for the insight Flutterby... So you mentioned the hygiene, now are they something like the Plant BBy's. Need water and all? Plant BBy's need Love, Water and Light, so how does this interact with the mermaids? This is interesting. I don't play TS3, just TS2 and don't think there is a mermaid in the 2. | |

| Mermaids have a hydration need similar to plant sims, if they go to long without water they will die of dehydration. All their other needs are same as regular sims...except that for hunger they don't care for normal sim meals (doesn't fill up their hunger much) they rather have fish, or kelp and like it raw.
Will try to post some photos of my mermaids later
