[solved]Don't Like New Software!

PS to anyone interested--really don't like this new system--at least not so far.  I lost the first time I tried to post--it just automatically rolled up and I couldn't type, covered the line I had written and I couldn't type anything.  Also, the emoticons are very, very difficult to see and I'm having trouble finding things I want to use.  I tried enlarging them but then they form a single line which seems to go on forever.  Sorry, to whom ever made the change but it's just not working for me.  So sad as I love using the emoticons and reading posts with them in.


I agree with Lilly 100%.  It would have been nice if we had a choice to have this or not.  I liked how our Forum was just as is.   The Emotions are extremely small and you can’t see them to select which ones you want to use.   I don’t like how things are changed and no one provides instructions on how to use them.  This does not work for me.  We have to go figure out how to use them.
  
It has also screwed up the use of PB (Photobucket).   Before I was able to upload my pics to Photobucket, copy/paste my link to a Word doc with no problem.  I was able to have each pic organized on my Word doc so I could post to the Forum, now I can’t do that...  This new software you have installed prevents me from doing that.  It shows the link and Not my pics.  In order to get the pics to show up, I must copy the links, post to my Forum page, switch back and forth between PB and SG to place the link rather than have all links posted at one time.  Makes no sense! 


You just may lose some of your members, as they want something that is fun to work with. This is not fun.  I’m sorry if I’m sounding crabby, but this is one place I really enjoyed visiting every day; posting my pics, sharing my creations.  If I can’t see what I’m using, understand how to use it, or enjoy it what I'm using, I will be wasting my time.  It takes the fun outta participating, and I won’t want to return.  I don’t want that to happen!  The Emotions are important to me.  They give my post life,  and since I can barely see them, I am not gonna waste time trying to find the right one I want. 

We can't use Caps, cause we're told it's considered yelling, okay I get it, but why subject us to something we can barely see?  Not real happy with this choice at all.   Need to get rid of this mess, or Improve It cause it's not working! 

The tiny emoticons was a pain but they are the regular size now, which is a big help. All new updates take a while to figure out, especially for the staff trying to find where to fix things like the emoticons size.
 
The old post area isn’t available anymore. So we are going to have to try to make the best of this one or forum software which more than likely won’t be free and will be a pain in the bum to move everything (trust me I’ve help do it more that once on another forum).
 
BB I’m not sure why copying from word to here isn’t working for you. I typed, and copied this from word with the following image from pb and it worked fine. I used the IMG code instead of direct link so I’m not sure if that is the difference or not.
 

Cool!  Okay,  I will look again.  Okay, the one I am getting my code from is called, IMG Codes (for Forum and Boards). That is the one I'm using.  Now here is an example.  The first one will be straight from PB.  It will show my pic with no problem.




This one is the same code that I copied and pasted to Word, then copied and pasted to here.

See, it has two codes.

That's weird that it is doing that its switching it from a IMG code to a direct link code...would you use the code button on here (the only beside the word balloon and says code when you hold your mouse over it) and past the img code into the gray are of it

Explorer is worthless in my option its not updated for the new coding system that the internet uses now which is why it kept stopping on you. Chrome is better... I prefer fire fox myself but that's just me

Yeah, I tried Foxfire and did not like it at all.

I see that you have logged off Flutterby, so I'll just post this for you when you log back on. I tried using the, HTML (for eBay, Craigslist, blogs, websites). I can see my pic without the code. I pasted the code to my Word doc and it works. Do you think I should use that one instead when posting to Word and the to Forum? Do you think there will be issues?

Yep, that's what I wanted you to do.

It shouldn't cause an issue but doing it that way will require people to sign in to see your images (where it will be treated as a link).

I think the reason why the image code isn't working for you is because your photo bucket is set up with what they call a "link back" (it includes a html code that links back to your album when someone clicks on the photo).

You can turn off that option by clicking on your user name (in photobucket) in the upper right hand corner

then click on "user settings"

click on the album tab

scroll all the way down to the last option "link back to album"

uncheck that box

(and if you want the links to show up under the photos like they use to ..click on the option just above it "turn on easy linking mode")

click on save

the IMG code should now look like this

Okay, I made the change you suggested, but I'm still having issues copy and pasting from Word.  Thanks for your help Flutterby.  At least I corrected the Double Code thing.  Not sure why it's not working with Word.  Oh well.

BB sorry that didn't fix the problem for ya... not sure what else to suggest at this point.

Thanks Cinda, and thanks to you as well Flutterby.  I really appreciate all of your help and being patient while I Vent.  I know you're doing all you can to resolve and make us happy again.  I did see the Smilies have gotten much bigger.  So much better, 

@Flutterby, I will make do with what is here for now.  You was able to correct the double coding issue I was having.

me i think forum motion must of upgraded all there forums so in a way it must of affected each sites that have forumotion forums including the way we post pic:daisy:

 BBdoll, I use [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] write my stories and haven't had any problems copy/pasting to this site. It uses url=http code for pictures.
